Selecting an Estate Sale Firm:
An estate sale is the most effective and profitable method of selling large amounts of personal property in a short period of time. Selection of a firm to conduct your sale is an important step in the process. Here are some considerations to help choose your estate sale firm!
Period of Sale:
We conduct your estate sale over a two-day period in order to sell the maximum items. Doors are open for at least five hours each day, usually on Friday and Saturday.
Preparation for Sale:
Preparation for a sale is a large part of its success. We remove all items from drawers, closets, and containers to determine what is where, what needs to be cleaned, or is otherwise in need of attention. We attempt to sell everything and advise clients to throw nothing away. We arrange your china and best smaller items on tables with covers, arranging rooms for effective display of furniture, clothes, linens, and household goods. We make the premises look as much like a boutique as possible, assuring a safe, and efficient traffic pattern.
We advertise on Facebook and other social media. In some areas we use local newspapers. We also have a following of customers who attend our sales (we notify frequent customers of each scheduled sale by e-mail). Our email list is over a thousand loyal customers.
Payment is made to you upon completion of the sale.
We provide you with a computer printout of items sold; items over $100..00 are listed individually, lesser ones totaled by description (books, clothing, kitchenware, etc.)
Disposition of Items not Sold:
Unsold items may be retained by the client, donated, or sold to a liquidator, as you choose. We are not liquidators and have no interest in any such firm.
Post Sale Clean-up:
We leave the house "broom clean," meaning that we sweep or vacuum. We do not dispose of trash, and cannot be responsible for the disposition of hazardous materials, paint, television sets, tires, mattresses, large furniture, or refuse unrelated to the sale unless prior agreement is made.
